Remove objects
Paint over whatever should disappear — a passer-by, a sign, a cable, a date stamp — and Toolula fills the area from the surrounding picture.
About this tool
Clean Up Photos With a Brush
Mark what should go; the gap is rebuilt from matching parts of the photo.
Paint, Then Remove
Brush over an object a little beyond its edges and press Remove. Repeat for anything left, and undo or redo any step.
Fills From the Photo Itself
Matching patches from the surroundings continue textures and lines such as grass, walls, sky or a horizon into the gap.
Runs on This Device
No AI model to download and nothing uploaded: the fill runs in a background thread of your browser, even offline.
How to use it
- Drop a JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC photo, or paste one with Ctrl + V.
- Set the brush size and paint over what should disappear, a little beyond its edges.
- Press Remove. Hold Compare to see the original, and use Undo if you want to try again.
- Repeat for anything else, then click Download.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Every image is decoded, processed and encoded inside your browser tab with Canvas, Web Workers and WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded, stored or logged.
What does it work best on?
Small to medium objects in front of textures or plain areas: people in the distance, litter, signs, cables, spots, date stamps. Very large areas or objects in front of faces and detailed buildings may need a few passes.
How do I get the cleanest result?
The fill depends on exactly which pixels you painted. Painting a little wider than the object, so no edge or shadow is left, gives the cleanest result.
Is the photo resized?
Photos up to 4096 pixels on the long side keep their full size. Larger photos are worked on at 4096 pixels so the editor stays responsive.
Can I use it to remove a watermark?
Only on images you own or may edit. Removing a watermark or credit from someone else's photo can infringe their copyright.
Is it free, and is there a watermark?
Yes, it is free to use without an account, and Toolula never adds a watermark. The free plan has fair-use limits; Toolula Pro, an optional plan, raises them.
