Watermark
Protect your documents with custom text watermarks or add your own company logo. Drag and drop your logo directly onto the page, then adjust size and opacity to taste.
About this tool
Add a Watermark to a PDF — Text or Logo, Locally
Stamp CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT or your own logo across every page. Everything runs locally in your browser — no upload, no sign-up, no watermark and no file size limit.
Text or Image Watermarks
Type your own text or pick CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, FOR REVIEW ONLY or DO NOT COPY and set its size and opacity, or add PNG or JPG logos you can move, resize and rotate.
Applied to Every Page
One click stamps the whole document, with a live preview before you export.
Flattened Into the Page
The watermark becomes part of the page content rather than a removable annotation.
How to use it
- Drop the PDF you want to stamp.
- Type the watermark text or pick a preset such as CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT. It runs diagonally across the middle of every page.
- Adjust Opacity and Font size and check the preview.
- Optionally upload a logo (PNG or JPG), drag it into place and set its size, opacity and rotation. Add another logo if you need more than one.
- Click Add Watermark & Download.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. Toolula processes the document inside your browser tab with pdf-lib and WebAssembly, so the file never leaves your device.
Can the watermark be removed later?
It is flattened into the page content, so it cannot be deleted as an annotation. Keep your unstamped original if you need one.
Which characters can the text use?
Latin letters, including accents and umlauts. For other scripts, make an image of the text and add it as a logo.
Can I watermark a password-protected PDF?
Unlock it first with Unlock PDF. Toolula tells you when a file is protected instead of producing a broken copy.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can use every Toolula PDF tool for free, without an account. The free plan has fair-use limits; Toolula Pro, an optional plan, raises them and adds advanced features.
